A group of keen walkers recently organised South Dartmoor Community College's own Ten Tors challenge, to raise money for our Outdoor Education Department. The trekkers undertook a 35 mile route across the North Moor in Ten Tors style, including wild camping, with a medal and a pasty at the finish line.
Well done to Amelia B and Hannah B in Year 11, who have both walked an amazing 63 miles on the south west coastal path to raise money for charity. This was instead of doing the Ten Tors and the DofE, which were cancelled due to Covid.
Congratulations to Year 9 student Holly E, who has won a Devon County Cricket Club "rising star" award.
Sixth Form students at South Dartmoor Community College and Atrium will be learning some unique new skills when they start their studies this year. A purpose built coffee bar has been set up in the college, where students can train to be qualified baristas - serving students and staff as part of their volunteering commitments.
Former students Nat Salt and Mark Thomas have been awarded scholarships to attend the London Institute of Banking and Finance to study degree courses, following their outstanding achievements last year.

We have been able to award 10 outstanding students with brand new Google Pixel 3 phones. This is in recognition of their dedication to their studies and all round outstanding achievements, during what has been an exceptionally turbulent year. It is hoped that these awards will keep the students connected with their learning, no matter what the coming years hold.
