Body Language 2023 left a wonderful buzz at South Dartmoor Community College and within the local community. This year’s programme extended beyond previous years, which is reflective of the consistent development we strive for here.
We are very grateful for the ongoing support that The Helen Foundation and Daisi (arts inspired learning) provide for creative activities at South Dartmoor. The foundation is facilitating a wonderfully creative, printmaking experience for our Year 9 and 12 students.
We welcomed Baroness Hayman to an informative virtual session with a cross section of our Year 8 - 12 students, who had expressed an interest in finding out more about how our political system works in the UK - with a particular focus on the House of Lords.
During Body Language Week we seized the opportunity to team up with Street Factory founder Toby G and the Hip Hop Educate Dance Ambassadors, Laila and Jackson.

Students returned after the half term break to see that the on site catering provision had received a makeover.
Year 12 and 13 students visited the Apprenticeship Show at Sandy Park and immersed themselves fully in the experience.
More than 50 of our dancers took part in some exciting practical workshops.
