Devising Discovery
Year 12 BTEC Performing Arts students took to the stage at Roborough Studios in Exeter University on Saturday 12th February, as part of a one day event called Devising Discovery.
They staged an original piece after taking part in two workshops led by Jade Campbell from DoorStep Arts. The Devising Discovery platform is an annual event where students can share their work and perform alongside other schools and theatre groups.
Both Jade and event leader, Erin Walcon, were glowing with praise for our students. Jade said: “Their generosity, energy and professionalism is outstanding, they have really shone as performers and as individuals today. They have been just a delight to work with.”
Some of our students also created and performed a movement during the event, to complement a piece written and performed by Syrian refugees about their hopes and dreams. Watching the students give their support and creative ideas so freely made us incredibly proud!
