In 2020/21, the government is providing a per-pupil premium to all state funded schools which is to be used to support pupils with recovering from the impact which the coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic has had, and will continue to have, on their education. It is a one-year premium for the 2020/21 academic year. At the same time, the yearly literacy and numeracy catch-up premium (additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2) has been discontinued.
